What began as a project has evolved into something more.
Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Puerto Rico, I was surrounded by dogs, cats, birds, fish, turtles, and even chickens—each one teaching me something different about patience, joy, and unconditional love. This lifelong passion is what drove me to rescue animals, volunteer at shelters, and help pets find their forever homes.
My deep commitment to rescue work followed me into adulthood. In 2015, while still in Puerto Rico, I rescued my dog Cookies, who was the most grateful, beautiful soul I have ever met! He bravely fought cancer for many months, and I lovingly cared for him through two surgeries and ongoing treatments until he passed away in August 2023.
On February 16, 2024, while visiting my family back home, my rescue journey came full circle when I saved an eight weeks old kitten, Zoro. Today, Zoro shares a home full of love with Dumba, a 16 years old dog born in my parents' house. Supporting Dumba through her golden years has a special place in my heart, teaching me how to be gentle, attentive, and deeply adaptable for senior pets.
A year ago, a layoff from my corporate job opened the door for me to dedicate my time to what truly matters. Because our pets (and even our plants) are vital members of our families, they deserve to be treated with that exact level of respect and dedication. This realization inspired me to build Katiana MC Pet and Plant Care. Currently, I am studying marketing and applying everything I learn directly to this business. While I pour my heart into caregiving today, my long term vision is to expand my professional horizons by offering marketing consultations in the future. Katiana MC Pet and Plant Care is the exciting intersection of my corporate background, my future professional goals, and my lifelong love for caregiving.
